State Department Clarifies Terrorism Definition

The US State Department announced today they are publicly releasing the definition of terrorism that has been used internally for at least the past few decades, but not publicly released until now.

A State Department Spokesperson provided this statement. “While it has long been clear that the definition of terrorism we use differs from the clear dictionary definition there has sometimes been a lack of clarity on when exactly we decide to call something terrorism, this new definition should provide much needed clarity.”

The new definition uses a combination of factors, including the “Pauly Shore Index” of melanin concentration, and the political alignment of the accused terrorists. Finally, the most important factor is if the actions work against the interests of the wealthy and powerful.

The department clarified that the publication of the definition would help the all government departments focus their efforts on preventing vile terrorist acts like being hispanic, filming mistreated farm animals and protecting trees from being demolished, while avoiding unnecessary charges against those merely accused of politically motivated violence against civilians and government agencies.
